Jewels by Mala is the creation of Mala Freedman. The company was originally established in 1979. I had just returned from India and began importing antique silk embroideries.

In 2000, I added stretchy fresh water pearl bracelets to my collection. Within a few months, customers commissioned me to expand my line to include one-of-a-kind creations. The rest is history.

I was educated at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Los Angeles. I became a buyer for Best and Company. The opportunity to travel around the world presented itself, and I traveled extensively, absorbing the beauty and culture around me. I have translated this love to the jewelry and gifts that I offer you.

Most of the jewelry that I design is inspired by artists and creators from around the world. Many of the necklaces and bracelets are hand-knotted. My jewelry looks fantasitc for formal or casual wear, whether for yourself or as gifts.
