This beauty is entirly made of the "forbidden stitch." The flower is probably a peony, representing prosperity and spring. The frame, itself, has a feeling of solid wood, and is one of my favorites. It has a lacquer finish, and the right and left sides are not shown due to limitations of the scanner. The matting is silk pongee.
